Blood pressure screenings Stop in from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at the Ellicott City Senior Center for free blood pressure readings by a registered nurse. Information: 410-313-1425.

English conversation The Miller branch of the Howard County Public Library, 9421 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club," a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting. The club meets at 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays. Register with the library before your first meeting. Information: 410-313-1950.

Ellicott City Senior Center events:

'Leo & Lynn' The duo performs traditional holiday music at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.

'Good Timers' A holiday music program with keyboard players Dick and Claire, accompanied by vocalist Julie Hall, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Featured songs will be from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.    

'Harriett's Hanukkah Party' will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Celebrate the "Festival of Lights" with stories of the Maccabees, the spinning of the dreidel and the lighting of the menorah. Refreshments will be served. 

Party An annual holiday party takes place Dec. 11 and begins with a cookie sale at 10:30 a.m. A catered lunch will be served at noon, and carols will be sung. Cost is $15.

Early Bird Bingo Carol Patterson leads an hour of morning bingo beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets are $2.
