Letter: New Asian grocery store a good deal for Catonsville

November 30, 2012

I look forward to the new H-Mart that is in the process of being constructed here in the Catonsville area. It will be convenient for residents, especially those within walking distance.

Some persons may regret the establishment of another Asian grocery store because there are currently two in the area. However, this is America and competition can be advantageous for consumers.

Furthermore, there is much that Americans can learn from our Asian neighbors.

Among all immigrants, I believe that Asians contribute much to the betterment of America.

Americans who despise another Asian grocery store, need to eradicate racial prejudice and xenophobia.

It is time to learn from other cultures that may have more to offer than our own.
