Speed and wet road conditions are likely factors

A single-car accident Tuesday in Crownsville has claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman.

Jennifer Nichole Tedore of the 400 block Serpentine Trail in Crownsville was pronounced dead at the scene on Herald Harbor and Prescott roads. She had been driving a 2003 Toyota RAV-4, when she struck a tree at about 12:30 p.m., police said.

Witnesses told police the car was speeding southbound on Herald Harbor Road, when it slid sideways near the curve at Prescott Road and crossed the double yellow lines. The car then left the roadway, went down a hill and rolled over. The vehicle's roof struck the tree.

The initial investigation suggests that speed and wet road conditions were factors in the crash.
