Police investigate two separate homicides Sunday evening

City police are investigating two separate homicides Sunday evening, one in the Barclay neighborhood on the east side and the other in Harlem Park on the west side.

Officers called to the 2200 block of Barclay Street, near East 22nd St., about 9 p.m. found a 16-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the face and head. The unidentified youth was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:12 p.m.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of North Calhoun Street for reports of shots fired. A 34-year-old man had been shot several times in the head, police said. Tremaine Johnson of the 1700 block North Chapel Street in Broadway East died shortly before 10 p.m. at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Investigators said he was walking on the street, when he was approached and shot, by an unknown number of assailants.
