A late Saturday shooting of a 33-year-old man at the intersection of Greenmount and E. North avenues in East Baltimore remained under investigation Sunday, while the victim remained in an area hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries, according to Baltimore police.

Police first responded to the intersection at the northwest corner of Greenmount Cemetary about 10:20 p.m. Saturday and found the man with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso, said Detective Vernon Davis, a police spokesman.

The severity of the man's injuries initially brought homicide detectives to the scene, Davis said.

However, the man's condition has since stabilized and Eastern District detectives have taken over the investigation, he said.

Police had no suspect or motive in the shooting as of Sunday afternoon, Davis said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-396-2433.
