UM never asked its fans about move to Big Ten

November 20, 2012

I suppose there will be those who think University of Maryland Athletic Director Kevin Anderson, the man who brought football coach Randy Edsall to Maryland, has made another great move ("UM to leave ACC for Big Ten in '14," Nov. 20). I for one, a graduate of Michigan State and a Maryland taxpayer, don't think so.

As a fan of Maryland football since 1972 and season ticket holder for a number of years, I would rather watch Maryland beat Clemson and Florida State in football rather than Michigan and Ohio State. And don't get me started on basketball. But Mr. Anderson and his ilk never asked for my opinion, or apparently any other Maryland fan. Asking fans for their opinion doesn't bring in any real money.
