Five people were shot in two bursts of gunfire in Baltimore on Tuesday night, according to Baltimore police.

About 7:27 p.m., police were called to an area hospital for a report of two patients with gunshot wounds. They found a man and a woman, both shot.

An investigation led police to determine both were shot in the 2100 block of Callow Avenue in the city's Reservoir Hill neighborhood, in the Central District, police said.

About 9:20 p.m., police responded to the 2500 block of W. Lafayette Avenue in the city's Bridgeview/Greenlawn neighborhood, in the Western District, for a report of a shooting. They found three victims with gunshot wounds — two male and one female.

Police were investigating both shootings late Tuesday night, said Detective Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman.

No further information was immediately available.

City police were also investigating a double shooting that occurred Monday night in the Mondawmin neighborhood that left a man and a woman hospitalized. Both victims are expected to survive, police said.

Officers, responding at 9:45 p.m. to reports of gunfire, found a 26-year-old woman suffering from a wound to her leg. She told police she had been shot in the 2000 block of McKean Avenue, near Walbrook Avenue.

While investigating the incident, officers were alerted to a second shooting victim in the neighborhood. They found a 38-year-old man nearby. He had sustained multiple wounds to his lower body during an incident at the same McKean Avenue address, police said.
