A 70-year-old woman was critically injured Friday when she lost control of her SUV and the vehicle rolled over in Lothian, Anne Arundel County police say.

Audrey Ann Gray, of Edgewater, was traveling west on Bayard Road near Polling House Road in a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox about 2:30 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road, police said. The vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway before going up a slight embankment, and then hit a tree and overturned onto its roof.

Gray was flown to Shock Trauma, where she remained in critical condition Saturday, police said.

Police are still investigating, and there is no evidence that speed was a factor in the crash, they said.
