Old Mill drops out, little other change in state football poll

November 06, 2012|By Katherine Dunn

Old Mill’s 36-35 loss to South River on Friday night dropped the defending Class 4A state champion Patriots from No. 16 to out of the final regular season media Maryland High School Football State Poll.

Otherwise, little changed in what will be the last poll until after the state championships wrap up Dec. 1.

Gilman remains the Baltimore area’s top team, ranked No. 2 behind Good Counsel. River Hill stayed at No. 4, followed by No. 5 Arundel, No. 8 Calvert Hall and No. 12 Westminster. Franklin moved up a spot to No. 13, while Dunbar stayed at No. 15.

St. Paul’s made the biggest move of any local team, jumping from No. 20 to No. 17.

Old Mill, Atholton, Edmondson and Milford Mill also received votes, but not enough to crack the Top 25.
