Two Orioles minor leagues played in Saturday night’s Arizona Fall League Rising Stars Game at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Infielder Jonathan Schoop, the Orioles’ third-ranked prospect, was 0-for-2 with a run scored, and left-handed reliever Mike Belfiore was perfect through 2/3 inning in relief in a winning cause in the AFL East’s 9-4 win over the AFL West.

Both players have had impressive fall seasons with the Mesa Solar Sox.

Playing mostly third base, the 21-year-old Schoop has put up a .292/.452/.500 line with two homers and seven RBIs in 16 games, displaying an improved plate discipline (12 walks in 60 plate appearances) over his 2012 season at Double-A Bowie, where he hit .245/.324/.386 with 24 doubles, 14 homers and 56 RBIs with a career-high 103 strikeouts and 50 walks in 124 games.

The 24-year-old Belfiore , who was sent to the Orioles as the player to be named in the Josh Bell trade in May, has held left-handed hitters to a .143 batting average, yielding just two hits over 4 1/3 innings. He’s allowed just one run in his last six relief appearances over six innings. Belfiore was 5-1 with a 2.85 ERA at Bowie over 47 1/3 relief innings during the season.

The Solar Sox (5-15) have 10 more scheduled games this season.
