'The Art of Marriage'

Harvester Baptist Church presents a video-based marriage conference Friday-Saturday, Nov. 9-10 at 9605 Old Annapolis Road. Cost is $35 per couple, which includes event manual and lunch on Saturday. Family breakfast

A pancake breakfast, sponsored by the Men's Club of the Church of the Resurrection, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 11 at the church, 3175 Paulskirk Drive. Breakfast consists of all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausages, breakfast drinks and juices. Cost is $5 per person, with a maximum family fee of $20. Free for children 6 and younger. Blood pressure screenings Stop in from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays at the Ellicott City Senior Center for free blood pressure readings by a registered nurse. Information: 410-313-1425.

English conversation The Miller branch of the Howard County Public Library, 9421 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, offers "Let's Get Together: English Conversation Club," a chance for those for whom English is a second language to practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting.
