Bistro Blanc 'pop-up' dinner with Tae Strain

Three Bistro Blanc alumni, including Tae Strain, will return to Marc Dixon's Glenelg restaurant for a 'pop-up' dinner on Nov. 7. 

Strain was the chef at Demi, the lower-level restaurant within Crush at Belvedere Square, which closed in May after a brief but exciting run. At the 'pop-up' dinner, he will be joining Ben Rosen, who is now working with James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein in Miami, and Janny Kim, who recently returned to Bistro Blanc after a stint at Hanaro in Bethesda

As for Strain, Dixon said that since leaving Demi, the young chef spent some time in Napa helping Michelin Star Chef Brad Farmerie open a new restaurant and then traveling through Asia "eating his way through culture and history."

The Nov. 7 dinner at Bistro Blanc will be a la carte. Dixon said that Strain, Rosen and Kim will create a one-night only menu.

Dixon said the dinner's theme, loosely is "fall/street food/s--- we like to eat."
