Final arrangements Jeff Kumble of Cedar Hill Cemetery will explain the advantages of planning final arrangements in advance and the importance of making one's wishes known during a talk from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nov. 7 and Nov. 19.

Cooking The Pampered Chef, which offers a line of kitchen tools and food products, will have a presentation from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 and Nov. 14.

Concert Jay Wachter and the Gangplank Ragtime Band perform at 10 a.m. Nov. 7.

Cataracts Divya Srikumaran of the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Center will talk about cataracts and the aging eye at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 14. Signs and symptoms of a cataract and the process of cataract surgery will be discussed.

Dance concert The Ballet Theatre of Maryland performs "An American Journey Through Dance" at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

Declutter talk Kate Leatherman will discuss "Downsizing your Possessions" at 10 a.m. Nov. 28.

Vendors are needed for the center's holiday craft/vendor and bake sale being held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 13. Space is available for $10 and includes a card table. Call Katrina Smith at 410-222-0140 or email her at agsmit33@aacounty.org.

Quilt Club Participants can help one another with projects and learn ideas and techniques every Friday at 1 p.m. at the O'Malley Annex. Machines are available. New members are welcome.

Flu shots Safeway Pharmacy will host a flu shot clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. Free with your Medicare Part B Card or $30. Must be at least 18 years old.

Art A new class, "Drawing with Lucille," will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 11. Cost is $10 for supplies.

Weight-loss program Dietitian Sheryl Hoehner will offer a seven-session class on weight loss from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays. Topics will include pointers on losing weight, decreasing sodium and increasing fiber in your diet, and strategies for reducing overindulgence during the holidays. Fee is $25.

Book club The center's club meets at 9 a.m. the first Friday of each month.

Luncheon Tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 5, for the center's Holiday Luncheon being held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at Michael's Eighth Avenue. Music will be provided by Tim Amann and Pet Rock. Tickets are $20; $18 for members.

Workshop Ann Hall and Geri Kelley will conduct a workshop, "Smocked Christmas Ornament," from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 7 and 14. Bring scissors. Kit supplies are $10.

Meeting The center's Computer Users Group will meet from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. The meeting is about items that might be on your or your relatives' wish list for new or different cyber items or gadgets for the holiday gift-giving season.

Tour The Genealogy Club will tour the Family History Library, 1875 Ritchie Highway in Annapolis at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 5. The speaker will be Hugh Tonebene.

Health A representative from the Arthritis Foundation will talk about rheumatoid arthritis at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

Concert Harpist Heidi Sturniolo will perform light classical, jazz and pop music at 1 p.m. Nov. 7.
