The National Weather Service is calling for Friday to be mostly cloudy, with patchy fog before 9 a.m., a chance of showers, a high near 74 and winds 5 to 10 miles per hour in the morning. There is a 50 percent chance of precipitation, and new rainfall amounts between one tenth of an inch and one quarter of an inch are possible.
A small craft advisory is in effect Friday afternoon for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the tidal Potomac River. A small craft advisory continues Friday evening for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Smith Point and the lower tidal Potomac River from Cobb Island to Smith Point.
