Eat your way through Baltimore Beer Week

The 10-day Baltimore Beer Week schedule is overflowing with food-related events, ranging from five-course dinners to pumpkin pancake breakfasts. There are tastings of beer with charcuterie, chocolate and cheese.

Many of the dinners have limited seating and sell out fast.  

Even before Baltimore Beer Week kicks off officially tonight with the Opening Tap Celebration at Power Plant Live, Big Jim's is convening a Power Brunch at Cross Street Market - get a three-beer flight of Flying Dog and a Big Jim's sandwich for $10. 

The marquee dining events include the Stillwater Artisanal Beer Dinner on Monday at Fleet Street Kitchen, the Heavy Seas Brewery Dinner on Wednesday at Heavy Seas Alehouse and the Sierra Nevada dinner at Alewife on Oct. 27, when chefs from the Food Market and Roy's join Alehouse's Chad Wells.

Most of the events are one-time only, but Bluegrass Tavern is offering a three-course Beer vs. Wine dinner for the duration of Baltimore Beer Week, featuring selected pairings of beer and wine. That's $50.

Beginning Monday and going through Oct. 25, the Wine Market is running a three-course Boulevard Beer dinner, and on Oct. 26 and 27, they'll have a four-course menu featuring pairings with Boulevard, Stillwater Ales and Brooklyn Brewing Co. for $40 ($57 with pairings).

Pairing events include a Dogfish beer and cheese tasting tonight at Loading Dock Discount Liquors, a Cripsin Cider and chocolate tasting on Tuesday at Elliott's Pour House and a beer and charcuterie tasting on Oct. 25 at Brewer's Art.

Brunches and breakfasts are spread over both weekends of Baltimore Beer Week. They're at the Americana and Metropolitan on Saturday, at Mahaffey's and Metropolitan on Oct. 27 and at the Point in Fells on Oct. 28.
