Dogs don't belong in costumes, and costumed dogs don't belong in the newspaper

October 18, 2012

I'm sorry, but I found nothing remotely amusing or cute about the article on dogs in Halloween costumes in the Sunrise section of your paper ("Dressed up to the canines," Oct. 15).

I am not a hell-bent animal rights activist, but the photographs of small dogs in silly costumes just didn't seem like the appropriate way to treat these creatures. While I am sure it was not an abusive situation by any means, it was a useless "filler" article with truly inane photos.

I expect a higher level of integrity from your paper. Please leave the stupid costumes to the stupid humanoids
