COLLEGE PARK — A few minutes after Maryland started its first practice of the 2012-13 season Friday afternoon, a player now at the top of Mark Turgeon’s recruiting list took a courtside seat at Comcast Center.
Roddy Peters, the 6-4 point guard from Suitland, is being recruited by a number of national powers, including Kansas, but there was some question whether the Terps would fall off his list after Turgeon had spent a considerable amount of time the past few months courting the Harrison twins.
There was also some who wondered whether Peters would take in Maryland Madness Friday night or be at Georgetown’s McDonough Arena for its Midnight Madness. Given the time difference between events – the Hoyas weren’t scheduled to start until 9:45 p.m., there’s still a possibility he could be at both.
