Annapolis man charged with assault in stabbing

Stabbing leads to assault charges

Annapolis police have charged a 28-year-old city resident with assault in connection with a stabbing Thursday night.

Police said Lionel McDaniel stabbed a 30-year-old man in the neck. McDaniel is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $400,000 bond.

The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of Tyler Ave., near Forest Drive. The unidentified victim is being treated at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is expected to survive, police said. McDaniel faces first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment charges.
