Apply these football terms to wedding planning if your fiance is distracted by the games

Welcome back to football season, other brides-to-be! We all know what that means – while we continue with the wedding planning, our wonderful fiancés may now find themselves consumed with football Thursday through Monday, leaving the load on our shoulders.

So how do we make it through to February without having to make all the decisions ourselves? It’s time to come up with a game plan and have a little season of our own.

If your fiance is a football fanatic, just take these very well known football terms for example and see how they can apply to wedding planning.

Audible: As the brides, we are the quarterbacks in this game, so don’t be afraid to change a call at the last minute. Just make sure you make the call clear and state your reasoning and trust that you’ll have the support of your “team” behind you.

Blitz: If you need a little extra support while your man is busy watching the big screen, call in the help of a bridesmaid or family member to get things done. Bringing them up from the line of scrimmage will help take away some of your stress and they’ll be honored to step in.

Delay of Game: Depending on when the big day is, try to remember that some things can wait. Pick your battles wisely and hold off where you can until you have his undivided attention back.

Hail Mary: When you really need him to pay attention to help you with something big or important, it’s time to call a Hail Mary. You give him two choices: either he gives you the attention you need or you are going to throw your ball out there and hope for the best. But if that’s the case, there’s no going back later.
