The Carroll County Board of Education will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at its headquarters in Westminster in a session that will release options — including possible closures of schools — related to a Comprehensive Facilities Study that began last spring.
The Oct. 10 session will begin at 5 p.m., in the Board of Education offices, 125 N. Court St.., Westminster.
The facilities study came out of public budget discussions with the Board of County Commissioners, questioning whether the school system should study its inventory of schools in the face of declining populations. Some commissioners called for a look at whether any school might be closed or consolidated as a means of reducing operating and capital costs.
