Former major league pitcher Eric Milton was named Friday as the head baseball coach at Severna Park, according to athletic director Wayne Mook.
Milton, 37, was a first-round draft pick of the New York Yankees (20th overall) in the 1996 MLB draft after playing in college at Maryland from 1994-96. He was 89-85 with a 4.99 ERA in 11 seasons in the major leagues. Milton was an American League All-Star selection in 2001, when he was 15-7 with a 4.32 ERA in 35 games for the Minnesota Twins, but he did not appear in the game.
