Eastern Star members making visits throughout Maryland

Fire safety is a year-round effort, but Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7 to 14 is the prime opportunity to drive these messages home as the fire and emergency service and civilians across the country rally around the issue. Each day, fire and emergency personnel see real-life examples of how fire damages people's lives and the events that often precipitate them. Also remember to change your clocks on Nov. 4 and it's also time to check your smoke alarm batteries. Remember to practice fire prevention all year long.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held at Harmony Lodge on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children $3. The lodge is at 1510 Tome Highway. Proceeds benefit the lodge's scholarship program.

The USNTC Bainbridge Reunion was held at the Clarion Hotel in Aberdeen Sept. 26 to 30. One of the highlights of their reunion was the dedication of the Bainbridge Memorial Stone in Port Deposit.

A Basket & Bags & Pandora Bingo will be played today (Friday) at the American Legion Bernard Tobin Post, 44 N. Parke St. in Aberdeen. Cards are $12, extras are $5. Bring a canned good and or a non-perishable food items for a bonus prize ticket.
