A Baltimore County firefighter is OK after falling through the floor of a house during a morning blaze in Towson, officials said.

Firefighters were called to the 7700 block of Bellona Avenue at 8:18 a.m. and found a house in the midst of a "well-involved" fire, the department said.

While attempting to put out the flames a firefighter fell through an unstable floor, landing in the basement of the house, officials said. The firefighter was able to get out of the basement, "was rescued and is OK," the department said.

The blaze was brought under control at 9:14 a.m. Bellona Avenue is blocked off at Charles Street, officials said.

The cause of the two-alarm fire is under investigation.
