Quarterback Joe Flacco and wide receiver Torrey Smith, who helped the Ravens overcome a late nine-point deficit and beat the New England Patriots 31-30 last Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium, both took home weekly awards today.

Flacco was named the FedEx AIR NFL Player of the Week while Smith was recognized for having the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week.

Against the Patriots, Smith caught six passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns less than 24 hours after learning that his younger brother, Tevin Jones, had died in a motorcycle crash.

Smith left the team earlier in the day to be with his family but he returned several hours before the game and decided to play. Following his second-quarter touchdown, he got down on one knee and then pointed to the sky. He wiped away tears from his eyes after getting to the sideline.

In a rematch of January's AFC championship game won by New England, Flacco completed 28 of 39 passes for 382 yards and three touchdowns. Because of his efforts, the local Junior Achievement in Baltimore will be awarded a $2,000 donation in Flacco's name.
