Traffic: Accident on I-95 south near I-395

Streets in Mount Vernon closed for Baltimore Book Festival

As of 9 a.m. Friday, traffic was slow on I-95 southbound near I-395, due to an accident.

Accidents were slowing traffic on the outer loop of I-695 near I-95 in Baltimore County, McDonogh Road near Timothy Lane in Baltimore County, I-895 northbound at the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel in Baltimore City, the other loop of I-695 near Loch Raven Boulevard in Baltimore County, Route 295 southbound near I-195 in Anne Arundel County and I-97 southbound near Dorsey Road in Anne Arundel County.

The Maryland Transit Administration is advising light rail patrons that shuttle bus service will operate Friday to link Penn Station with the Mount Royal stop.

Some streets around the Washington Monument in Baltimore City are closed Friday for the Baltimore Book Festival this weekend. All will reopen by late Monday. The closings include: Mount Vernon Place (Monument Street) from St. Paul Street to Cathedral Street, Charles Street from Centre Street to Read Street, and Madison Street from St. Paul Street to Cathedral Street.

Monument Street is closed between Wolfe Street and Patterson Park Avenue in East Baltimore, due to sinkhole repairs. Maryland Transit Administration bus 35 has been diverted.

Until further notice, the No. 14 bus stop located northbound on Crain Highway at Furnace Branch Road has been temporarily relocated due to construction.

There are no major delays reported on area transit systems.
