Festival The seventh annual Taste of Kent Narrows will be held Oct. 6 at the Chesapeake Bay Exploration Center, 425 Piney Narrows Road in Chester. Books The American Association of University Women will accept book donations for its sale being held Nov. 1-4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bank of America parking lot located at the intersection of Jumpers Hole and Benfield roads in Severna Park, and Furniture Solutions on Ritchie Highway in Arnold. AACC gala Anne Arundel Community College will hold a gala Oct. 13 at the Westin Baltimore Washington Airport-BWI, 1110 Old Elkridge Landing Road in Linthicum. The "2012 Gala — Welcome to our Future" event will be an evening of dinner and dancing and will offer attendees a chance to meet AACC's sixth president, Dawn Lindsay. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m. A program and dancing will follow. Tickets are $200, and proceeds support student scholarships and academic initiatives. 'Youth Fishing Rodeo' Fort Meade hosts a fishing rodeo for children age 3-16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Burba Lake Park. Participants will be divided into three age divisions and prizes will be awarded for each division. Lake will be stocked by the Department of Natural Resources prior to the event. Festival The AAC Department of Recreation and Parks annual Arts and Music Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13-14 at Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road in Annapolis. Job fair The Anne Arundel Community College's fall job fair will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 in the David S. Jenkins Gymnasium on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway in Annapolis. Event typically attracts more than 1,200 job seekers and as of today, has more than 50 employers signed up for booths and they are seeking applicants for positions from entry-level to supervisory.
