Trailer loaded with three mowers stolen in Annapolis

Thief cut lock from hitch and made off with trailer

September 26, 2012|By Mary Gail Hare, The Baltimore Sun

A thief made off with a trailer loaded with three riding mowers in Annapolis early Tuesday.

The Superior trailer, which bore a Maryland license, was parked overnight on Thom Drive near Forest Drive. The owner discovered the loss early Tuesday. The suspect cut the lock from its hitch and left it in the roadway. The trailer carried a red Toro riding mower, a yellow Gravely riding mower, and a red Toro push mower.

The owner told police he frequently leaves the trailer, secured with a lock, on the road at night at what is an apartment complex.

Annapolis police investigated a similar theft a few months ago and ultimately recovered the trailer, but not the equipment it carried, in southern Anne Arundel County.
