A 49-year-old Cecil County man was killed shortly after 2 p.m. Friday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in Harford County.

Monte Alonzo Greenhow of the 200 block of Thomas Point Way, Perryville, was pronounced dead at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center after the crash, which police said occurred when Greenhow's 2006 Kawasaki, traveling east on Route 22, struck a westbound 2010 Hyundai Elantra as its driver tried to make a left turn into a WaWa parking lot.

Police said the driver of the car, a 17-year-old male from the 200 block of Fairwood Road in Bel Air, turned in front of the motorcycle. Greenhow tried to take evasive action, police said, but the motorcycle struck the right rear of the Hyundai, throwing him.

The driver and juvenile occupants of the car were uninjured, police said. The crash left Route 22 (Churchville Road) closed for several hours. Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident.
