Silverman named new boys basketball coach at Milford Mill

Milford Mill didn't go far looking for its new varsity basketball coach, promoting JV coach Michael Silverman to replace former coach Albert Holley.

Silverman spent the past three years as the Millers' JV coach, leading the team to the Class 4A-3A Baltimore County crown in the 2010-11 season.

"We have continuity with Michael, everybody knows what he's all about. He is well liked and respected by the student-athletes and parents in the program," Milford Mill athletic director Joe Sargent said.

Holley, who guided the Millers to two state titles and the past four Baltimore County championships in six years, accepted the varsity position at Friends in the summer.
