Concert The Town Center Community Association presents a "Vocal Recital" featuring the U.S. Army Field Band at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 in the ballroom of Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road in Columbia. Classical music Sundays At Three Chamber Music Series presents pianist Brian Ganz in an all-Chopin program at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 at Christ Episcopal Church, 6800 Oakland Mills Road in Columbia. Awards dinner The Community Action Council holds its 17th annual Holland Awards Dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center, 2700 Turf Valley Road in Ellicott City. University of Maryland athletic director Kevin Anderson will be the keynote speaker. Retired educator Sydney Cousin will be honored as the Humanitarian of the Year, and Ascend One Corp. will receive the Service Award. Tickets are $74; $650 for a table of 10.
