The National Weather Service is calling for Wednesday to be cloudy, with a high near 87 and southwest winds around 8 miles per hour. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. New rainfall amounts between one quarter of an inch and one half of an inch are possible.

A small craft advisory is in effect Wednesday morning and afternoon for the Maryland Chesapeake Bay and the lower tidal Potomac River.

Wednesday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 74 and southwest winds 3 to 5 miles per hour. There is a 30 percent chance of precipitation.

Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 94 and light, variable winds.

Thursday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low around 78 and southeast winds around 6 miles per hour or less.
