One dead, another wounded in Baltimore shootings Tuesday

Weekend violence continues with one dead

The spate of violence that marked Labor Day weekend continued Tuesday with a homicide in the Frankford neighborhood and a shooting in Upton.

Officers were called at 11:50 p.m. to the 5400 block of Seward Avenue, near Radecke Avenue. They found a 42-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the head in the basement of a home. The victim was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview, where he died at 12:38 a.m. Wednesday.

At 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers discovered a seriously wounded 40-year-old man in the driver's seat of a vehicle stopped in the 500 block of West Hoffman Street at the intersection with Druid Hill Avenue. He had sustained multiple gunshots to the left side of his body and is being treated at an area hospital, police said.
