An Anne Arundel County police officer was injured when his cruiser overturned on Route 100 in Pasadena amid intermittent rain showers Wednesday night, according to a county Fire Department spokesman.

Emergency personnel responded to the westbound side of the highway near Catherine Avenue at 8:56 p.m. for an overturned police cruiser, said Lt. Keith Hamilton, the spokesman.

The officer who was driving the cruiser was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Hamilton said.

The officer was not identified. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and there were no other injuries, Hamilton said.

Hamilton directed all other questions to the county Police Department.

A police spokesman could not be reached for comment late Wednesday.
