Pops concert The Annapolis Symphony Orchestra performs its annual Lexus Pops in the Park concert at 5:30 p.m. at Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road in Annapolis. Admission to the park is free for the concert. Concessions will be available, and visitors may bring food, blankets and lawn chairs. Alcohol is not allowed. Photographers meet The Arundel Camera Club meets at 7:30 p.m. in Room D114 at Severna Park High School, 60 Robinson Road. Members will discuss the club's schedule, contests, field trips, contest rules and how to prepare photographs for competition. Visitors are welcome. Information: 410-518-6876.

Friday, Sept. 7

Benefit concert Maryland Therapeutic Riding's annual Live on the Farm benefit concert featuring the Grammy Award-winning Oak Ridge Boys will be held in Crownsville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. The event also features live and silent auctions. Cost is $40 for general admission and $125 for VIP admission. Arts fundraiser Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts will host its annual fundraising event, "Arts Alive," from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event raises funds for the hall's year-round arts-related programs. "An Evening in Paris" takes place in a tent on the front lawn and will feature silent and live auctions, a raffle and musical entertainment. There will also be tasting stations featuring signature dishes and drinks from area restaurants, caterers and hotels. Stargazing "Community Observing Night," sponsored by the AACC Astronomy Club, begins at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own telescope and binoculars or use one of the eight telescopes provided by the club to view planets, stars and the moon. Lighthouse tours The Thomas Point Lighthouse tours conclude with boats leaving at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. Visitors can learn about how lighthouse keepers lived, other lighthouses on the Chesapeake Bay and how many are still around.
