A 54-year-old man was shot and his car was stolen from him Monday night in West Baltimore, according to the Baltimore City Police Department.

According to Police Sgt. Anthony Smith, officers responded at 7:39 p.m. to a report about a man shot twice in the 4100 block of Seminole Avenue. The man was transported to an area hospital, Smith said.

According to Smith, the man was driving his 2009 Nissan westbound on Edmondson Avenue when he stopped at Athol Avenue. According to Smith, two men got into the victim's car and ordered him to drive.

When they got to Seminole Avenue, according to Smith, the two men ordered the driver to stop so they could go through his pockets. According to Smith, the victim ran from the car at that point and the two men fired shots at him, hitting him twice "in the limbs." After the shooting, Smith said, the two men fled in the victim's Nissan.

The victim's identify has not been released, and police are investigating the incident, Smith said.
