Wieters in lineup versus Jays

August 26, 2012|Dan Connolly | The Baltimore Sun

The Orioles go for the sweep this afternoon against the Toronto Blue Jays and Orioles manager Buck Showalter doesn’t have a Sunday ‘B’ lineup in.

Matt Wieters, who often gets a day game after a night game is catching in his third straight since the club off day on Thursday (and since bruising his shoulder thanks ota foul tip Wednesday).

Wieters is coming off a game in which he threw out three would-be basestealers, the first time he has done that in his career. It was the 14th time it has been done by the Orioles, the first since 1988.

All the regular starters are in Sunday – though the second base carousel stopped on Omar Quintanilla today.

     Here’s the lineup:

   Markakis 9, Hardy 6, McLouth 7, Jones 8, Wieters 2, Davis DH, Reynolds 3, Quintanilla 4, Machado 5. Tillman 1.
