Md. should retire dirty, old coal power plants

August 19, 2012

Have you heard the saying, "When you know better, you do better"? Well, one would hope that credo is true, and in the case of the Crane and Wagner power plants, that would mean retirement.

These two power plants are among the worst polluters in the country and terribly inefficient. Considering the rising temperatures and this summer's drought, this is the perfect time to move on to other forms of energy.

We are at a crossroads, and it is time to seize the moment and head in a healthier direction for energy production.
