Torrey Smith headlines group of wide-outs who return to practice

Smith, Logan Payne and Patrick Williams participate in Sunday's session, but a pair of cornerbacks in Chykie Brown and Asa Jackson do not

The Ravens’ depth at wide receiver got a little boost Sunday with the return of three wide-outs, including starter Torrey Smith.

Smith (sprained ankle), Logan Payne (bruised hip) and Patrick Williams (left shin/calf) ran onto Jack Stephens Field at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. Smith and Payne had missed Saturday’s session after suffering their respective injuries in Thursday night’s 31-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason opener for both teams. Williams’ appearance snapped a streak of seven consecutive absences.

Cornerbacks Chykie Brown (hamstring) and rookie Asa Jackson (hamstring), tight end Ed Dickson (sprained right shoulder), defensive tackle Ryan McBean (broken left ankle) and wide receiver Tandon Doss (hamstring) did not practice for the second straight day.

Inside linebacker Darryl Blackstock (groin) missed his fourth consecutive practice. Tight end Dennis Pitta (broken right hand) and inside linebacker Josh Bynes (cracked vertebrae) did not participate for the ninth straight day.
