Congratulations to Taylor Dodson, Katie Hendrix and Tate Tiemannn, choral students of Laurel Wacyk at Perryville High School, who were selected to participate in the recent National Association of Music Education All-National Honor mixed choir. The event culminated in a performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Condolences are extended to the families of Rhonda Thomas and Gladys Sentman.

The ladies of the OWC had a crab feast at the home of Kathy and Dave Collette over the weekend. We and our husbands had a wonderful time, including Roger and I, Dave and Kathy Collette, Diane and Joe McGrillis, Joanne and Jim Roland and Patty and Julian Chernick.

Natasha Ebright is sent greetings on her Aug. 14 birthday.

John Blomquist is sent happy birthday wishes on Aug. 15.

Jason and Cindy Smith enjoyed a week in Ocean City but it was hot; all they did was sit on the beach and swim in the ocean and the pool.

Kim and Pat Simons enjoyed a week in the Poconos – they went to the race Sunday but were devastated by the tragedy that struck during the storms.

The 5th annual benefit 5K run/walk "Walk for Life" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 on the Ma & Pa Trail. This event is to benefit Alpha's Glory. Online registration at Onsite registration will be held at 8 a.m.

An evening concert with Charlie Zahm, Tad Marks and Steve Hobson is set for today at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children under 16.
