Darnestown native Caroline Queen didn’t advance beyond the qualifying round in whitewater slalom racing earlier today, knocking out the only American in the field of 21 women kayakers.
The 20-year old Queen finished 18.30 seconds off the top mark in her initial run of 117.05. Her second run was significantly slower, as she finished at 136.23 and suffered a pair of two-second penalties for gate touches. She was forced to take the first run as her best time.
