The National Weather Service is calling for Friday to be partly sunny in the Baltimore area, with a high near 96 and northwest winds 7 to 10 miles per hour. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Friday for areas along and east of Interstate 95. Heat index values will be as high as 104.
Forecasters warn that a few thunderstorms may produce damaging wind gusts and large hail and that localized flash flooding will be possible.
Friday night is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 76 and southeast winds 6 to 9 miles per hour becoming northerly after midnight. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 95 and southeast winds around 6 miles per hour or less. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.
