The Teach My Daughter to Play Basketball Clinic will be held Aug. 23-25 at Lake Elkhorn Middle School, in Columbia. The clinic is for girls ages 9-13. Evening sessions (6:30-8:30 p.m.) will be held Aug. 23 and 24; Aug. 25 is a morning session (10 a.m.-noon). Applicants may attend one, two or all three sessions. Cost: $40 per session. Buzz Braman, the Shot Doctor, is teaching a one-week basketball camp at the Columbia Gym, 6151 Day Long Lane, Clarksville. Cheerleading

Terror Fastpitch will hold softball tryouts for girls age 10 and under to age 18 on Aug. 12 and 19. Tryouts will be held at Heritage Farm Park, Devilbiss Bridge Road, Walkersville, MD. The times are:
10-U and 12-U: 9–10:15 a.m.
14-U and 16-U: 10:30–11:45 a.m.
18-U: 12–1:15 p.m.
Players please bring your equipment and arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled start times to complete paperwork and warm up. Pitchers and catchers should plan on staying an additional 15 minutes.
