Cover letter and résumé is due Friday, July 27, from applicants who are interested in filling the open position on the Baltimore County 12th Legislative Democratic Central Committee. Email cover letter and résumé to baltcodems@gmail.com.
Applicants must be a registered Democrat who resides in the 12th Legislative District.
Central Committee members are volunteers who work to ensure the election of Democrats to public office, while encouraging the participation of activists, volunteers and financial contributors.
They must attend at least four regular or special meetings of the committee and at least one meeting of the Maryland State Central Committee during any 12-month period.
Central Committee members fill vacancies of certain offices due to death or resignation of elected officials, and when no Democratic candidate has filed for nomination. The committee also makes recommendations to the governor for appointments to the local Board of Elections and, at times, other state and county boards.
The three remaining members of the 12th Legislative District Democratic Central Committee, Douglas Brinkley, Margaret Henn and Paula Wolf, will vote on a replacement after conducting interviews Aug. 2, at 7 p.m., in Room 118, of the Bloomsbury Community Center, 106 Bloomsbury Ave., in Catonsville.
