Obama policy on Gulf drilling is a war on energy

July 19, 2012

President Obama and Interior Secretary Ken Salazar have worked to restrict access to offshore oil and gas resources by canceling or delaying lease sales and by creating an atmosphere of uncertainly that has left job creators looking for other countries' waters to host their offshore rigs.

The Interior Department just released a much awaited plan for offshore drilling that reaffirms a six-month moratorium on offshore energy exploration in the Gulf of Mexico.

With oil currently around $85 a barrel and nationwide gas prices nearly double what they were when Mr. Obama took office, the latest phase in the administration's war on energy is just one more way to continue bringing down America. That is why we must make a change regarding the White House occupant come November.
