Dems don't care about voter accuracy unless they think they might lose

July 13, 2012

Your recent article about the drive to put Maryland's new congressional redistricting map up for referendum noted the Democratic Party has hinted it might challenge the signatures on the petition in court and "try to have some names tossed out" ("Campaign to force Nov. vote on political map inches forward," July 10).

Isn't this kind of behavior at odds with a group that says it believes in the importance of voters having their say in the democratic process and that voters shouldn't be required to present identification before being allowed to cast ballots?

Maybe the Democrats really do understand the importance of voter accuracy after all.
