It would be cool if you could legislate medical effectiveness, but the expensive automated external defibrillators now required at Anne Arundel County pools already have been shown to not be effective at increasing survival rates after adult cardiac arrest.
They should only be required at pools only after unequivocal evidence is found that they improve survival after drowning.
