Stevens leaves Terps to become Gallaudet women's basketball head coach

25-year-old returns to Bison

After one year as coordinator of recruiting operations for the Maryland women's basketball program, Stephanie Stevens was named head coach at Gallaudet.

Stevens, 25, was an assistant under former Gallaudet coach Kevin Cook in 2010-11, when the Bison were 24-4 and made the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time since 1999.

Gallaudet was 8-16 last season under Brendan Stern, who will coach the men in 2012-13.
