Details are scarce (actually, make that non-existent), but it's been confirmed to Midnight Sun that the Virgin Mobile FreeFest will return for its seventh year, according to spokeswoman Audrey Fix Schaefer.

For the fourth straight year, it will take place at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia. The performance line-up and date are still to be announced.

Last year's FreeFest was headlined by garage-rock-heroes the Black Keys and EDM-dude-in-the-mask Deadmau5, and it drew the festival's largest crowd to date — roughly 50,000 people.

Since 2009, a large portion of the FreeFest's tickets have been given away online. No word yet on how tickets will be distributed for this year's event.
