Two people, including a pregnant woman, suffered minor injuries after a fire caused the partial collapse of a vacant home in the 1200 block of W. Baltimore St. around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the three-story brick dwelling had collapsed from the third floor into the second floor with the flames still ablaze, said Chief Kevin Cartwright, the Baltimore fire department spokesman.
He said fire companies were able to extinguish the flames from outside the building, which is located in the West Baltimore neighborhood of Poppleton.
During the fire, a pregnant woman suffered a minor cut to her hand and a firefighter sustained a cut to his foot. Both were transported to area hospitals, Cartwright said.
