Sun shows liberal bias on immigration

Once again, your biases are showing regarding immigration ("Split decision," June 26). You talk about Arizona's "tough anti-immigration laws" when they really are tough anti-illegal immigration laws. We are a nation of immigrants and to characterize a lot of us as anti-immigration is not only wrong but disingenuous as well.

On the op-ed page, meanwhile, columnist Jules Witcover says that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio "has little foreign policy experience ... a factor likely to work against his selection" as Mitt Romney's vice-presidential running mate.

But such a lack never seemed to hurt the current president. It's interesting you think it's OK for a president to have no experience, but not OK for a vice-presidential candidate.

Finally, why no mention in either opinion that candidate Barack Obama promised comprehensive immigration reform? He has failed to put forth a proposal even though he had two years when he had majorities in both the Senate and House. I don't understand why you don't point this out.
